After high-school I took a year off to build a portfolio to apply to art school. In that year I developed a creature I dubbed “Nightcrawler”, after the Judas Priest song of the same name. Nightcrawler would eventually star in my first full-length comic I had made since I was a small child.
Looking back on it, despite the comparatively crude artwork, I actually quite like it. While posting it to the site I read through it for the first time in several years, I found myself feeling the tension of the story and concern for the characters. It kind of makes me sad: I would have thought my storytelling would have improved more in all these years. But I guess I just haven’t been giving teenage me enough credit!
